Thieves use excavator to break into a liquor store

Posted: Updated:

Some thieves enter through the front door, some others come through the back.

Recently, a couple of crooks in Detroit didn’t use the door at all, but instead used an excavator to smash down a wall to break into a liquor store.

They reduced the front wall to rubble, and then snatched as much liquor as they could.

Store owners say the thieves caused $150,000 in structural damage and destroyed $75,000 worth of liquor.

The excavator was taken from a local construction site. It's still missing, which means crews cannot begin their work today.
