Free, on-demand shuttle service announced for New Rochelle downtown area

Posted: Updated:

A free, on-demand shuttle service around the downtown area has been announced in New Rochelle.

Officials celebrated the launch of the Circuit NR service at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The service transports residents and visitors through high-traffic areas of New Rochelle's growing downtown every day.

Officials got to ride the service on Thursday. Westchester County Executive George Latimer said the ride was smooth and fun, adding that he thinks it’s going to be a big success.

To get a free ride, simply request it by downloading the Ride Circuit app or by hailing the shuttle as it goes by.

The service currently only has three shuttle buses. City officials say they will test the service for six months, and it will be expanded if it’s successful.
