Yonkers Animal Shelter takes part in ‘Clear the Shelters’ adoption event

A major adoption event was underway in Yonkers Saturday.

Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption drive. Yonkers Animal Shelter was holding an event to take part in the adoption effort.  

Anthony Vezzuto, from Yonkers Animal Shelter, says a lot of the animals in the shelter were either abandoned or were found as strays. He says this event helps to bring awareness to all of the dogs and cats that still need homes.

At the event in Yonkers, so far one dog and three cats have been adopted.
