Fugitive indicted for killing and burning a dog

Posted: Updated:

A homeless fugitive has been indicted by a Westchester grand jury for killing and burning a dog.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino Jr. says Ian De Los Reyes, 33, stabbed and beat a black Labrador retriever to death, last month inside a Greenburgh home. The dog's body was then burned in a backyard fire pit.

Authorities say the animal’s charred remains and a stash of meth were found after the dog's owner reported the death to police.

De Los Reyes is a fugitive from North Carolina and Utah where charges are pending.

The dog’s owner, Danilo Tolentino, also faces charges.
