Pearl River woman charged with DWI and hit-and-run

A Pearl River woman is being accused of driving drunk after a hit-and-run crash in Pearl River. 

Police say Susan Lugenbeel caused some property damage outside the Shop Rite on North Middletown Road Aug. 3.

Officers searched the area for a 2005 back Ford Escape with front end damage and later found Lugenbeel’s vehicle.

The 62-year-old was arrested a short time later.

Police say she refused a Breathalyzer test.

Lugenbeel now faces DWI and leaving the scene charges. She is due back in court Aug. 28.
