Cortlandt Manor man breaks record for highest standing jumpPosted: Updated:
A Cortlandt Manor man should soon have his name in the record books after his achievement on Sunday.
Dozens of friends and supporters came to see Christopher Spell break the Guinness World Record for highest standing jump.
Spell stacked plates measuring up to 64.13 inches, which is just a little higher than the current record of 63.6 inches.
On his first attempt, Spell successfully made the jump to break the record.
Spell tells News 12 he trained for seven months before the jump and hopes to inspire younger athletes to push themselves.
He says he might even try to beat his own record.
Guinness World Records must still certify the results.
