A homeless man is accused of burglarizing a number of Nassau businesses.
Police say the most recent incident occurred Sunday morning. They say Thomas Briel threw a brick through the glass doors of Twisted Smoke Shop on Merrick Avenue in East Meadow. Police say he then stole several boxes of cigarettes and ran.
Police used security camera video and arrested him a short time later. They also connected Briel to six other burglaries, including two Family Dollar stores and the Main Street Mini Mart in Hempstead.
