Team USA's success is inspiring some World Cup hopefuls in the Hudson Valley.
Dozens of future soccer stars are perfecting their game from the fields at Purchase College this week.
It's all part of the "Future Stars Soccer Camp Program," a summer long experience for student athletes ages six to 16.
Many of the players are hoping to learn new skills to help them make their school teams in the fall.
The athletes who spoke with News 12 say they are absolutely inspired by Team USA, and say their success shows that a lot of hard work and dedication goes a long way. “There's times you won't get accepted to the team, you'll ride the bench, times maybe you'll miss practice…but you'll have to fight through that and move on better yourselves to be on the starting 11 next Sunday,” says Jamie Smith.
