Investigators: 3 injured during fire caused by discarded fireworks in Chestnut Ridge

Posted: Updated:

Police believe fireworks in the garbage sparked a fire that led to injuries Wednesday night in Chestnut Ridge.

Both the Spring Valley and Monsey fire departments responded to the fire. According to investigators, the cause was likely extinguished fireworks
that were thrown out in the garbage, which were leaning against the side of the house.

Three people were treated for minor injuries. One of those individuals was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.

This is a developing story. News 12 will add more details as they become available.
