SPRING VALLEY -

Police have identified the man who was shot multiple times in the back of a taxi cab Friday morning.

Officials say the victim is 28-year-old Luis Guaman-Espinoza, a driver for International Taxi Service.

The taxi cab the victim was found in is currently in the possession of the Rockland County Sheriff's Office, which officials will scour for evidence.

Police say Guaman-Espinoza was found in the backseat of the taxi on Noyes Avenue right behind CVS. Police officers rushed him to Nyack Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Neighbors in the area say they were shocked by the brutal discovery.

News 12 spoke to the victim's manager at International Taxi Service through a translator.

"Luis was a very nice person, he was very hard working," Skarleth Rezabala said.

International Taxi Service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Managers say they are concerned their drivers may be in more danger then they thought.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ramapo police at 845-357-2400.
