Hudson Line delays linger after Wednesday's massive Yonkers fire
Delays on the Metro-North's Hudson Line dragged into Friday following the massive fire in Yonkers from Wednesday night.
Officials said crews were still working on the tracks due to the mudslide and flooding from the amount of water used to douse the fires on Warburton Avenue. They told News 12 all the stations are now open and commuters are looking at 10 to 15 minute delays.
Meanwhile, investigators are still trying to determine the cause of the fire that started in a multifamily home at 781 Warburton Ave. Wednesday night.
The flames spread to the house next door, destroying it, while the house on the other side suffered damage.
It took hours to get the fire under control, and the water used to put out the flames caused flooding and a mudslide that hit the train tracks below.
As a result, several train stations in the area had to be shut down, causing major delays on the Hudson Line.
The two homes were so badly damaged, including the foundation in the back, that they had to be torn down.
At least 12 families are now displaced as a result of the fire.
