Police say a pursuit ended with a stolen car crashing into a tree.
Westchester County police say the Real Time Crime Center flagged a stolen car on the southbound Hutchinson River Parkway near New Rochelle around 2:30 p.m.
They say they attempted to pull the driver over on Hutchinson Boulevard. Authorities say he stopped briefly, but then sped away through Eastchester and into Bronxville. Police say he jumped a curb and crashed into a tree outside the Siwanoy Country Club. They say before the crash, he sideswiped two cars, got a flat tire and tried to escape through the passenger window.
Police say no one was hurt, and there wasn't major damage to the cars.
The driver was taken into custody, but his name and potential charges have not been made public.
The driver, who is a man in his 20s, was taken into custody. Police say he is expected to face felony charges. Authorities say the car he was driving was reported stolen. They say it was a rental car with South Carolina license plates.
