A woman found a grenade Tuesday while going through some personal items of her recently deceased grandfather at his Ossining home.

The Ossining Police Department says she drove it to police headquarters, where it was checked by the bomb squad and fire department.

Police say the grenade was not live.  A road that was closed during the investigation has reopened.
