Posted: Updated:
SLOATSBURG -

Ramapo police say that Ballard Avenue had to be shut down Thursday after a water main break caused the roadway to buckle.

Traffic in Sloatsburg has been cleared after the road reopened.

The roadway was expected to be closed for an extended period of time, but crews from Suez Water were able to quickly repair the break.

Further fixes to the roadway are expected, but closures are expected to be minimal.
