Police: Man brandished knife at Mott Haven precinct

Police say a man wearing a mask walked to a precinct in Mott Haven on Saturday armed with a pair of knives.
It happened at the 40th Precinct, and the encounter was captured on surveillance video. Police say 26-year-old Montey White entered the building wearing a black ski mask and brandished a knife, sending a handcuffed man bolting for cover.
The NYPD is investigating how the man was able to enter the precinct. A police source tells News 12 that typically an assigned officer is posted at the front door of precincts to watch and prevent threatening situations.
White is charged with menacing an officer. He was released on his own recognizance Monday and is due in court next month.
