Police: 1 shot in hand in Newburgh

NEWBURGH -

Police say one person is recovering after she was shot in Newburgh Saturday.

They say it happened in the area of South Street. Authorities say when officers arrived at the scene, a large crowd was dispersing and the shooter was nowhere to be found.

Officials say hours later, a woman walked into the hospital with a bullet wound in her hand. Police say her injury is linked to the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call Newburgh police at 845-561-3131.
