Court docs: Man accused of running meth lab had two prior arrests

A Long Beach man accused of cooking methamphetamine in his detached garage on Beech Street has had prior run-ins with the law, according to court documents.
Jovin Weinstock was found passed out on his lawn on May 10. He was arrested on a reckless endangerment charge. Police say they found a hidden meth lab in Weinstock's garage. Residents on surrounding streets were ordered to evacuate and were kept out of their homes for more than 12 hours.
Court documents show that Weinstock was convicted of aggravated driving while intoxicated in 2015. And records show he was arrested in 2017 on weapons and drug possession charges.
A neighbor told News 12 that Weinstock is a brilliant man who's skilled in science but had a drug problem.
Officials say Weinstock remains hospitalized in an intensive-care unit.
