Police: Hit-and-run driver strikes officer responding to Farmingdale stabbing

Six people, including a Nassau police officer, were hospitalized following a wild scene in Farmingdale Village overnight.
Police say the incident began as a fight at a hookah lounge on Conklin Street around 2:45 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a victim outside who had been slashed in the neck.
When they tried helping that victim, police say he ran behind the building, where he collapsed. While officers were rendering aid to the victim, they say a white minivan tried leaving the parking lot and struck a black Nissan.
The Nissan then hit a woman who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Police say the minivan again tried to flee, this time hitting a Nassau police officer and the victim who had been stabbed.
Two other victims connected to the original melee were later found at a nearby hospital.
The man who was stabbed and run over is in critical condition. The other victims had non-life-threatening injuries.
The white van fled the scene. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
