FISHKILL -

A former police officer is accused of stealing nearly $37,000 from the Village of Fishkill Police Department’s Police Benevolent Association.

Authorities say an investigation found that Lori Bailey, 48, of Highland Falls, embezzled $36,720 from the PBA while serving as treasurer.

She was indicted by a Dutchess County grand jury on a grand larceny charge.

A warrant was issued for her arrest, and she surrendered to State Police on Tuesday.

Bailey was arraigned in Fishkill Court and released on $1,000 bail.

She is also facing a similar charge in Orange County Court for when she served as a part-time Highland Falls police officer.
