NYPD: Fetus found wrapped in bloody bag in East New York
A human fetus was found under a tree in East New York early Monday morning.
Police say the fetus was discovered wrapped in a plastic bag with bloody clothing around 6:15 a.m. near the corner of Linden Boulevard and Bradford Street next to PS 36.
Sources tell News 12 that a woman walking her dog spotted the bag and called 911.
Police tell News 12 that the fetus appears to be 20 weeks old.
Detectives went from door to door to search for surveillance footage and anyone with information.
Veronica Sexton says she saw the bloody bag yesterday but didn't call 911.
"I actually fear for the person who was in that situation," Sexton said. "You just wonder what type of situation they were in to do such a thing."
They say they are still searching for the mother at different hospitals.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
