TSA employees thanked for working through shutdown

HARRISON -

The federal government shutdown isn’t stopping dozens of TSA employees from working at the Westchester County Airport in Harrison.

About 65 TSA employees work at the Westchester County Airport, and many are working without pay right now due to the standoff in Washington.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer paid a visit to the workers and thanked them for their service. "On a human being level, it's unfortunate that the people who work for the federal government become pawns in things like this," says Latimer.

The county provided lunch and dinner vouchers to the airport's TSA workers as a small thank you for their commitment during the shutdown.
