Arctic cold with brutal wind chills overnightUpdated:
Arctic cold air that swept in behind a major winter storm brought dangerously frigid conditions across the Hudson Valley for Monday.
News 12 meteorologists say the extremely cold temperatures are persisting overnight. Low temperatures are expected to be around 8 degrees.
Wind chills will make it feel like it’s -5 and -15 degrees, with winds around 10-20 mph. Patchy ice will still also be on roads, and officials warn to use extreme caution.
Tuesday will be mostly sunny and not quite as cold, with highs near 28 degrees.
Wednesday and Thursday will be cloudy and rainy with milder temperatures in the mid-40s.
y will be rainy with snow showers possible in areas north and west of I-287 and in higher elevations.
