“This is a family:” Maria Regina H.S. becomes first winner of ‘Sounds of the Season’

News 12 is proud to announce the winners of our special series ‘Sounds of the Season,’ which features some of the best musical groups in the Hudson Valley.

After weeks of voting on News12.com, you picked our top four winners.
Our first winner is The Choral Ensemble of Maria Regina High School in Hartsdale.

This talented and angelic choral ensemble has been a staple of Maria Regina since the school was founded in 1957.

The Choral Ensemble is now 54 young women who make up the group. They all say the group is more like a sisterhood. “Maria Regina is a family, and this is a family in a family, it's really cool,” says Angelina Rabadi, a junior.

The family's favorite music to sing is Christmas music. “I've always loved Christmas songs, ever since I was little, I love the message they convey,” says Angelyce Gerrald, a senior.
Gerrald helped lead the ladies to a Sounds of the Season win with nearly 80,000 votes. “We were telling everyone to vote! Everyone told their family members, we had it on the PA, we had our Twitter, tweet out, on Facebook, we told everyone to vote!” says Gerrald.

Below are their performances!

'Do You Hear What I Hear?'

'Rejoice with Exceeding Great Joy'

'A Rhapsody for Christmas'
