Senior citizens say there aren't enough benches and shelters at bus stops and are calling for some changes.

The Riders Alliance and East Side House Settlement's Melrose senior center put out a book Thursday detailing the troubles seniors experience on the bus.

In addition to a lack of benches and shelters, they also want more bus-only lanes.

While they like the MTA's plan to improve bus service, they want the mayor to take action on the streets and stops.

A spokesperson for the mayor's office told News 12 , "The mayor feels rider's pain and agrees that bus service must get better. We have committed to improving our city's bus system by expanding Select Bus Service, which is now up to 16 routes and serves 300,000 riders a day, and rolling out more dedicated bus lanes and other features to make bus trips more reliable and faster."
