Several families are homeless today after a fire ripped through their building in Peekskill on Sunday night.
Fire officials say they received the call about 6:15 p.m., and when they arrived, they found heavy fire on the third floor of the three-story building on Main Street.
There is a bakery on the first floor with apartments above.
Several neighboring fire departments were called in to help, as crews attacked the fire from both inside and outside the building.  It took about an hour to get it all under control.
No one was injured but four families, a total of 12 people, were left homeless.
The Red Cross is now helping those families find alternate housing.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
