Tenants no longer facing eviction after boiler fix in Yonkers building

Posted: Updated:
YONKERS -

A broken boiler that had several Yonkers families in jeopardy of losing their homes for the holidays has been fixed.

News 12 has learned the boiler at 116 School St. has been fixed, and as a result, residents can stay in their homes.

Maintenance workers were at the site late Tuesday night and early again Wednesday morning.

As News 12 has reported, the tenants were without heat and hot water for days.

If the repairs weren't made, Yonkers housing inspectors would have had to condemn the building and evict the eight families living there.
