New Jersey State Police was on hand for a 500 turkey giveaway in Passaic.
In less than an hour, all 500 people walked away with turkeys that were at least 10 pounds.
State police teamed up with Holiday Meats to give them out for free.
The focus was on making sure Passaic senior citizens walked away with a turkey.
The event was done in Atlantic City for two years, but this year, they decided to come north to Passaic.
"The economy is turning around, but it hasn’t come back for everyone,” says NJ State PBA President Pat Colligan. “So we want to make sure everyone has a turkey in their often."
Police, as well as the fire department, also gave out ShopRite gift cards to every single person who recieved a turkey.
