YWCA hosts toiletry drive ahead of Thanksgiving

Volunteers came together in the spirit of giving this weekend to help those in need.

Yonkers residents donated toiletries like shampoo, deodorant and soap for the homeless and underprivileged at the YWCA Saturday.

"After speaking with several members of the homeless population in Yonkers we found that they didn't have enough, you know, basic items like toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps,” said 1st District Councilwoman Shanae Williams.

This year marked the first year Yonkers hosted the toiletry drive.
