Officials warn of falling trees, loosening wires during wind advisory

While the worst of the snow is over, the borough is not in the clear just yet.
The biggest concern for residents now is the wind.
As News 12 meteorologists have reported, there was a wind advisory in effect until noon for all five boroughs Friday.
There are dangerous wind gusts of up to and exceeding 40 mph, causing damage like falling trees limbs and loosening telephone wires.
The city is urging residents to avoid going to local parks and to stay away from trees.
For those driving, officials advise to take extra precaution on bridges, especially in SUVs or trucks, due to the extremely strong crosswinds.
