North Brunswick Township High School hosted the largest off-season robotics competition in the country Saturday.
The North Brunswick high school competition team Raider Robotix invited 42 teams from around the tri-state area to compete.
The teams competed in a variety of tasks, including requiring robots to stack cubes on a seesaw.
"There's lots of different opportunities on the team,” says Raider Robotix team member Arushi Bhatiayou. “You learn a lot, you meet so many new people, it's an amazing experience, you learn a lot about the up and coming industry of STEM, and it's a great way for communities to interact."
During the competition, Raider Robotix also collected lightly worn or usable shoes donated by the teams and by the community. The shoes will be recycled to communities that need them through Shoebox.org.
