Organizers say they staged Nanuet rally in 1 day to be part of national protests

Protesters rallied in Nanuet Wednesday, saying that President Donald Trump is putting himself above the law.
The rally was one of more than 900 protests nationwide Thursday, all calling on the country to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
The rallies happened the day after Trump fired Attorney General Jeff Sessions, replacing him with interim Attorney General Matthew Whittaker.
Whitaker, a known critic of the Mueller probe, could have the power to shut it all down.
The Rockland County event was held at what's known as the Four Corners, or the intersection of Middletown Road and Route 59. It's a very visible location in the county that activists often use to send a loud message.
Organizers tell News 12 that the protest had been in the works for months, but that they pulled the trigger Wednesday night so they could be part of the national sweep of protests.
This rally in particular was organized by Rockland Citizens Action Network and Rockland United.
