A boxing program at Lexington Avenue Gym in Mount Kisco aims to help people with Parkinson's disease fight back.
The Rock Steady Boxing Program has 30 men and women who come three times a week to work out.
Research shows boxing related exercises help in muscle flexibility, along with posture and balance.
Attendees say the class has also helped them build camaraderie.
James Cotter of Mahopac was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2013 and used to drive to Brooklyn for a class, costing him over four hours of travel each trip.
Cotter says he now spends more time working out then driving to class.
