Parents facing drug charges after Ramapo crash with kids

Two parents are facing numerous drug charges after being involved in a three-car crash Wednesday night in Ramapo, according to authorities.

Ramapo police say the crash happened around 6:20 p.m. on Route 202 near the Palisades Interstate Parkway. They say a westbound vehicle swerved into the eastbound lane of Route 202 and hit two cars.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 43-year old male from Pomona, was arrested a charged with multiple crimes, including with driving while ability impaired by drugs and driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle.

His wife, 39-year old  from Pomona, was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child.

The couple’s children, ages 3 and 6, were in the car at the time of the crash. They are both in the care of Child Protective Services at this time.
