The Strong Island Animal Rescue League saved a raccoon in distress after it got its head stuck in a peanut butter jar.
A homeowner in Centereach told News 12 that he called the group after noticing the animal in his backyard.
Armed with a catch pole, Strong Island's Frank Floridia went to work and safely pulled the raccoon out of a tree.
Floridia says once they hit the ground, it was a struggle to pull the plastic jar off of the scared animal's face. Once it was off, the raccoon was free to go.
Floridia says the homeowner shares the credit for saving the raccoon because he called for help right away.
