Forecast: Heavy rain tonight, colder temps this weekend

Storms are on tap for the start of the weekend as temperatures begin to drop.

Flooding rains are likely tonight. Downpours will linger as gusty winds to 50 mph begin to blow from the northwest, lasting into Saturday morning. Gale watches and flash flood watches will be upgraded to warnings as the threat nears.

A flash flood watch is in effect through 6 a.m. Saturday as very heavy rain is expected to fall across the area.

A mix of sun and clouds and windy conditions are expected for Saturday with temperatures in the low-50s. The overnight low will be 34 degrees.

Temperatures will begin to drop Sunday with a high of 46 degrees and mostly sunny skies. The overnight low will be 35 degrees.

The start of the work week have sun with temperatures in the high-40s. Some rain is expected throughout the week.
