In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Healing Center in Brooklyn is giving victims of abuse a chance to share their experiences through clothing design.
Organizer Antonia Clemente says the clothing project is dedicated to raise awareness about the reality for those who have gone through any trauma or suffering due to violence. She told News 12 that every nine seconds, a woman is a victim of abuse in the United States.
The event was held at the Fourth Avenue Presbyterian Church.
The T-shirts made will be displayed throughout the neighborhood with the hopes that it will help victims of abuse reach out for help.
