YONKERS -

A former Yonkers man has been found guilty of murder.

A jury has convicted Damon Scott, 42, of second degree murder for the 2008 death of 35-year-old Jerome Hancock.

In June of that year, Scott shot Hancock outside the Mexico Car Service on South Broadway in Yonkers.

At the time, Scott worked for Yonkers Union Taxi.

After the shooting, Scott fled to Georgia where he was finally arrested in 2017.

Scott is scheduled to be sentenced next month and faces 25 years to life.
