Bridgeport police say a murder suspect who's been on the run for a year was arrested in Florida.
They say officers are on their way to the state to pick up 18-year-old Jahmari Cooper.
According to police, Cooper lured 18-year-old Jeri Kollock into the Green Homes Apartments last October, then robbed and fatally shot him.
Investigators say the victim was forced to strip naked before he was killed.
"We do celebrate his life, knowing the fact that he left behind so many memories and touched so many people’s lives. He touched so many people’s lives," says the victim's mother.
Kollock's family says he would have celebrated his 19th birthday in a few weeks. They plan to hold a memorial service soon.
When U.S. Marshals took Cooper into custody, police say he had a handgun and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in his possession.
Police say Cooper is also a suspect in a second homicide in New York.
