Speaking of Women event highlights domestic violence survivors

This year's Speaking of Women event in Monroe comes as the #MeToo movement nears its one-year anniversary.
Staff at the Center for Family Justice say since the movement began, they have seen a dramatic spike in clients seeking their service.
Center for Family Justice officials say events like the 21st annual Speaking of Women are important to keep their mission and cause alive. Hundreds attended Tuesday's luncheon, which featured guest speakers including domestic violence survivor and former "Today" host Tamron Hall.
Hall, who lost her sister to an act of domestic violence, says we have to do more than help just the people close to us.
The organization has touched the lives of over 10,000 people, including Lori Bennett. Bennett says the Center for Family Justice gave her the strength to leave a dangerous marriage. Shehas since remarried, but has not forgotten what the center did for her.
