A “Stop the Violence” rally and vigil were held at Jackie Robinson Park in Stamford.
The goal of the rally was to bring the Stamford community together through peace, unity, and love.
People lit candles and honored those who have died from gun violence.
Hoops 4 All founder Wilner Joseph said, “Just talking responsibility as adults as educators, as mentors, just helping our kids to listen to our kids and figuring out a solution to keep them busy and keep them engage, and finding a way to have them resolve situations instead of picking up a gun.”
There will be another rally on Oct. 18 at the Yerwood Center.
