MONROE -

An Orange County football coach who's accused of sending lewd pictures of himself to a 15-year-old girl made his first appearance in Monroe court Monday.

Justin Kaffenberger entered a not guilty plea to charges that include two counts each of sending indecent material to a minor and endangering the welfare of a child.

Kaffenberger was a former student and star football player at Monroe-Woodbury High School, graduating in 2013. He is now the assistant junior varsity football coach there.

According to court documents, Kaffenberger allegedly used Snapchat to send naked photos of himself to a teen and asked her to perform sexual acts.

School officials say Kaffenberger was vetted extensively before being hired, but he's no longer allowed anywhere on campus for now.

The judge issued two orders of protection against Keffenberger. He is due back in court on Nov. 5.
