High school unveils newly renovated entrance

CENTRAL VALLEY -

Officials at Monroe-Woodbury High unveiled the newly renovated entrance to the building on Wednesday.

The new walkway is filled with bricks purchased by parents and community members with inspirational statements.

The walkway also raises money for M-W Cares Day, an event promoting respect, empowerment and success.

The day will feature guest speakers at assemblies along with workshops for the students. Officials hope it can instill values the students can use every day of their lives. "The date is not just a day, it's not a one and done. We need to continue to support our students so they have awareness of all these values that we feel they need as students," says Principal John Kaste.

M-W Cares Day is scheduled for Oct. 26.
