A Newburgh man has been sentenced after being found guilty of murder in the shooting death of another man during an botched robbery attempt in 2017,.
Omarrio Morrison, 26, was sentenced to 27 years to life behind bars in in Orange County Court Wednesday.
Prosecutors say Morrison he recruited two other people to conduct the robbery and provided them with guns. The two accomplices, Dejoire Fox, 21, and Tyrees Canigan, 17, have already pleaded guilty to murder.
The victim, 63-year-old Raul Diaz-Martinez, was shot in the head inside his own apartment on Chambers Street in Newburgh.
