Boston Post Road reopens after transformer explosion
Boston Post Road has reopened after a transformer explosion caused its shutdown in Pelham Manor overnight.
Authorities say it was around 11 p.m. Tuesday when the blown transformer brought down wires that landed on a tractor-trailer on the busy road near where it crosses under the Hutchinson River Parkway.
The road was completely shut down from Pelham Parkway to James Street until about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
No injuries have been reported.
