A police pursuit in Orange County ended in a fatal crash Monday night.
State police say they tried to pull over a 2001 Toyota Tacoma on the Taconic State Parkway in East Fishkill around 9:40 p.m.  The driver, Thomas E. McGrath, 50, of Cresco, Pennsylvania, was wanted on several warrants and fled the scene.
The pursuit headed west on I-84 through Newburgh when McGrath’s vehicle collided with a Nissan Pathfinder and overturned just north of Stewart International Airport.  McGrath was trapped in the vehicle when it burst into flames. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder complained of neck pain and was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
The highway had all lanes blocked between Exit 5A NY-747 International Blvd. and Exit 5 NY-208, but it reopened around 7:15 a.m.
