CUDDEBACKVILLE -

A father and son remained missing Saturday night after swimming in the Neversink River.

State police say a 9-year-old boy was swimming in the river near the Oakland Valley Campground in Cuddebackville.

The boy's father jumped in to try and save him, but the current took the two downstream. They were last seen when their raft overturned near the campground.

Multiple crews were called to the scene to assist with the rescue, but the search was suspended for the night due to the weather and river conditions.

State police say the search will resume Sunday morning.
