A Westchester man was bitten by a shark while swimming in the waters off Cape Cod on Wednesday.
Neighbors who live next door to Bill Lytton's Sherwood Place home in Edgemont describe him as an adventurous man who took an annual trip to Massachusetts to research marine life.
Marine biologists are trying to determine if the 61-year-old was bitten by a great white shark off of Cape Cod Wednesday afternoon.
Beachgoers said that before Lytton was bitten, a group of seals was killed in the same shallow waters.
According to authorities, Lytton was standing about 30 yards off the shore of Long Nook Beach when he was bitten. He was then airlifted to a Boston hospital in serious condition.
