PEEKSKILL -

Flames broke out at an abandoned building in Peekskill overnight.

Fire officials say a fire started at 928 Second St.,  on the corner of Division and Second streets, around 5 a.m. today.

Investigators say the house has been abandoned for years.
Flames sparked on the first floor in the rear of the home. About 40 firefighters worked the scene. "It got into the walls, it got up all the way to the third floor, the guys made the attack on the inside, and they did a great job," says Peekskill Fire Chief John Rose.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but at this point, investigators say the fire does not appear to be suspicious. No injuries have been reported.
