Gubernatorial candidates campaign ahead of Tuesday primaries

Seven people vying to be Connecticut's next governor criss-crossed the state Monday to remind residents to get out and vote in Tuesday's primary elections.
Democrat Ned Lamont began his 16-hour day of campaigning at a coffee shop in Danbury. But just outside, most people who talked with News 12 said they didn't even know there was a primary on Tuesday.
Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim is also running on the Democratic line.
On the Republican side, Danbury Mayor Mark Boughton leads in the latest poll. But with a crowded field of four others -- Tim Herbst, Stephen Obsitnik, Bob Stefanowski and David Stemerman -- they say they're not worried about polls.
If history is any indication, there could be a decent turnout on Tuesday. About 27 percent of voters went to the polls the last time there was an open governor's seat.
