An escaped goat has roamed Warren County for over a year, popping up so frequently that it’s become a town mascot of sorts.
It is believed to have escaped from the Hackettstown Livestock Auction.
Hackettstown residents nicknamed the goat Fred. They say they’ve seen it roaming around the town at night, with a few deer.
Hackettstown Police Sgt. Darren Tynan says that he has personally seen the goat. It is often outside the train station at night.
